Description
The Anger Distress Cards are strategies to use for yourself/your client when you/they are feeling angry or upset. The cards include simple occupational therapy activity interventions which incorporate sensory strategies, movement and mindfulness.
The cards include over 60 strategies to use. Each card includes a picture of the suggested activity. Cards can be used as a mindfulness colouring activity.
Simple language has been used in the instructions.
I developed these cards during my own mental health recovery. Each activity is something I have used to help me cope and manage stress, anger or challenging situations.
How to Use:
The cards can be cut out and pasted into a weekly schedule
Colour the cards in
Kepts as a reminder in your or your clients’ wallet
Stuck on a wall
Used as a deck of cards
We have also made some blank cards for you/ clients to create their own strategies
TIPS
We recommend
– Exploring strategies that vary in their demands, skill level and ease of use.
– Laminating the cards to increase the likelihood of them being used and not lost.
– Practice using the activities prior to feeling stressed to increase the success of the activity.
Please note, boxing is a strategy I have put into the cards. It is very effective for me personally but I would check with your organisation whether this is something you generally recommend and who it is appropriate for.
